When first obtained, the wood that eventually became this coffee table was earmarked for a picture frame. It was sold to me as recycled ash from a barn in Iowa. Upon cleaning it up and milling for thickness, it presented itself as an awesome piece of old lumber. I could not bring myself to rip it into three-inch strips that was the vision for the frame. So a coffee table was born. It features wire legs to allow the wood to be the focal point.
Once it was completed I was informed by the Ray's Variety Executive President of Ethics, Accuracy and Protocol that this piece was not to be sold. Oh, well, this is one I won't mind having around for a while. |
